About the place:

Toulouse is a city in southwestern France, the capital of the Haute-Garonne department and Midi-Pyrénées region. It is the fourth largest city in France. Toulouse has been around for almost 2000 years and over time had many rulers from different countries come through before becoming a part of France. It became more independent after the Hundred Years’ War when King Louis XI took power away from Charles VII who was governing at the time. Then later during WWI and WWII parts were bombed but most are still standing today with lots to see, including museums dedicated to aviation, religion, archaeology, natural history and even local art like tapestries and ceramics.

Things to do in Sernin:

In Toulouse there are many wonderful attractions to visit, such as Basilica Saint-Sernin, which dates back over 1800 years ago. It’s France’s largest Romanesque church, and while you’re there make sure to also check out the crypts.

You can also visit the Musee des Augustins – this museum is home to more than 500 paintings by artists such as Picasso, Matisse, Dufy and Delacroix. Even if you don’t want a history lesson about Toulouse (although that’d be pretty interesting), it’s worth checking out for its amazing art collection!

One of the most interesting places to visit is The Cité de l’Espace – a space museum that has been open since 1988 and takes visitors on an adventure of weightlessness without ever leaving the ground. Visitors can see what it’s like to become one with their surroundings while flying around the world at incredible speeds or even orbiting Jupiter! The museum features many interactive displays that provide insight into human life as well as how humans learn about our universe through observation and theory. There are also some spectacular exhibitions dealing with specific events in history such as the moon landing or other missions to Mars by NASA astronauts which allow you to feel what these men felt during those moments: awe-inspired excitement for this new knowledge they were gaining, sorrow for all who died while they were gaining this knowledge and unstoppable hope for the future of humanity.
