Chatellerault is a commune in the Vienne department and Poitou-Charentes region of western France. It lies on the banks of the Clain river, around 25 km southeast of Poitiers. There are many things that you can do here, both during the day and at night while visiting this beautiful city. One of the most popular activities in Chatellerault is cycling along the Loire River. The biking path follows closely by the river for some time so it’s an easy ride without any strenuous hills or steep climbs. This makes it enjoyable even if you are just starting out with your first bike tour experience.
You can also visit the Musée des Beaux Arts museum and tour de la Rochelle bridge – it’s easy to visit on a day trip from La Rochelle. The city center is easily accessible by public transport, with regular buses heading from Lafitole bus station in La Rochelle every 15 minutes during peak hours. Buses also run throughout most of the night until midnight or later so you can stay out as late as you like.
After that check out the amazing Château Gallerie – This lovely art gallery is located right next door to the Musée des Beaux Arts. It’s a great place for any visitor who wants to see more than just paintings, as they also sell lithographs and engravings from some of France’s most famous artists including Picasso, Dalí and Warhol. The museum has an incredible collection with pieces dating back centuries so it’s definitely worth checking out if you have time while visiting.
